WICHITA, Kan. (Apr 23, 2013)—HARD CHARGE TM, the premier televised obstacle running series, named its first CHARGE Champions at the Wichita/Park City event this past Saturday, Apr. 20. Nicolas Zahasky of Sioux Falls, SD won the Men’s Championship, Emily McVay of Wichita took home the Women’s title and Co-Ed Team CHARGE Champion members were Jess Callahan, Hooker, OK; Milton Clevenger, Colwich, KS; Kelly Johnson, Wichita; Cody Kandt, Leawood, KS; and Austin Towne, Augusta, KS.

Zahasky, who has run more than 20 obstacle course races, said, “This was one of the best obstacle course races I’ve done. Everything was top notch, from the registration process to the solid construction of the obstacles. I was happy to have qualified to be part of the televised heats and winning is an even bigger honor. Feels great!” Zahasky ran an incredible average pace of 6:47 min/mile through the four miles and 27 obstacles.

Making it clear she’d be back to defend her women’s title, McVay said, “HARD CHARGE, thank you for the great race! Will recommend to many. See you next year!” McVay recorded an impressive average pace of 9:06 min/miles throughout the course.
